I’m excited to announce that Ant Design System for Figma 2.3 is now available! Right after Figma announced the new features at Config, I started working on the UI kit, and today it’s finally ready! This update introduces the new Figma features, new And Design components, and Figma Tokens plugin support!

What’s new in version 2.3:

All new & hot Figma features are added!

Now components use the newest Figma features making the library more powerful and easier to maintain. Some of the components were also redesigned to be lighter and easier to use.

Variants + Component Properties are now supported
New Auto Layout features, including Absolute positioning, are added

Figma Tokens plugin support

This one is super exciting! You can now change the theme of the UI kit from light to dark and from dark to light with a few clicks in the same file! However, It works only with version 2.3. The previous versions do not support this feature. If you want to learn more about using the Figma Tokens plugin with Ant Design System for Figma 2.3 - I’ve prepared a short tutorial on how to do it here.

New Ant Design components

I’ve added new Ant Design components and improvements. The UI kit is up-to-date with the newest version of the React library. New components added:

How do I update my Figma file with the new updates?

There are three ways to go about this, depending on how you’re working with the file:

Figma recently announced a swap library feature, and you can learn how it works here. I recommend making a backup copy before.
The easiest way is to copy+paste any new components into your current file and then simply swap the styles out in those components to your local styles.
If you’re using a copy of Ant Design System as a base for each project, start fresh with the new version next time you start one!
